You need to prepare white vinegar, spray bottle, baking soda, and microfiber cloth. Before you start the cleaning, you can spray the gasket with white vinegar and wipe it with a damp microfiber cloth. After that, set the washer to the hottest water temperature and highest level. 

Put two cups of white vinegar to the detergent chamber. Let the cycle finished and repeat the cycle with one cup of baking soda in the drum. Once it is done, wipe the drum with a microfiber cloth. Do not forget to wipe down the front part of the machine as well. You should clean both inside and outside parts of the machine.

Cleaning a Top-Loading Washing Machine

You need to prepare white vinegar, microfiber cloth, baking soda, and toothbrush. Set the machine to the hottest and highest level. Put four cups of white vinegar in it and pause the machine so the solution may sit for one hour.

Wipe down the top part of the washer with a microfiber cloth that has been dipped inside a bowl of hot vinegar water. Use a toothbrush to scrub the bleach and softener chambers. After one hour, continue the wash cycle until it is finished. Repeat the cycle but you use a cup of baking soda this time. Do not forget to wipe the washer tub too once the cycle is done.

To prevent mold and mildew nest, you can leave the door or lid open when you do not use it. Since the cleaning solution is natural, you can do it as often as possible. It will not cause any harm to the system and this is how to clean a washing machine.
